Valhalla (0-3) at Serra (0-1)

When: Today, 7 p.m.
Preview: Valhalla was outscored 91-7 in opening losses to Granite Hills and Montgomery, but bounced back and played well in a 29-24 loss to Mount Miguel. With limited practice, Serra lost its opener 36-0 to Lincoln last week. Despite the score, the Conquistadors played very well.
Prediction: Serra 28, Valhalla 14

Mission Bay (0-1) at No. 8 La Jolla (2-0)

When: Today, 7 p.m.
Preview: Mission Bay opened with a 31-14 loss to Mt. Carmel. La Jolla, behind QB Jackson Stratton, WR Diego Solis and do-everything RB/OLB Max Smith, has outscored Morse and Mira Mesa 100-26.
Prediction: La Jolla 24, Mira Mesa 20

Grossmont (1-1) at No. 9 Helix (1-2)

When: 7 p.m. today
Preview: Grossmont QB Justin Brown has thrown for 451 yards in two games while WR Nathan Acevedo has 12 catches for 261 yards. Helix opened with losses to No. 6 St. Augustine and No. 4 Mater Dei Catholic before blanking Steele Canyon 14-0 last week. RB Christian Washington leads the Highlanders with 78 carries for 355 yards. Helix has won 23 in a row in this series with the last Grossmont victory in 1991. Helix has outscored Grossmont 1,011-257 over that span.
