Oktoberfest in San Diego: Here’s Where to Celebrate

Prost! Dig the lederhosen and dirndl out of the closet and grab your best stein, it’s that time of year again for the most famous of German traditions: Oktoberfest!

And given our city’s love of beer, you have a lot of options to celebrate Oktoberfest in San Diego. Here’s a guide to help you plan your celebration!

Ocean Beach Oktoberfest 2022

Ocean Beach Oktoberfest 2022 is going to be a celebration to remember. This annual event is set for October 7th and 8th in Ocean Beach, where Newport meets the beach.

The all-day and night, two-day event will feature live music from both local and nationally touring artists, a 4:20 happy hour, a liquid brunch featuring drag performers, Oktoberfest-themed contests and games including a Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest competition, the traditional stein holding contest, a cornhole tournament, brat eating, and more.

Quartyard's Annual East Village Oktoberfest

Quartyard’s East Village Oktoberfest will carry on the tradition in San Diego with six San Diego-based craft breweries’ versions of German lagers and pilsners, traditional Oktoberfest faire, and Oktoberfest music and games!

Quartyard will be transforming Your City Block into an Oktoberfest paradise complete with over 20 beers on tap from Alesmith , Modern Times, Ketch, and Karl Strauss.

This beloved La Mesa tradition will have a host of polka dancers and party revelers that will have you saying Oans, zwoa, g’suffa (One, Two, Three) DRINK all weekend long!

La Mesa Oktoberfest is the perfect opportunity to create memories, enjoy the company of friends and family, and come together for an unbeatable FREE weekend in a German paradise.

There will be three Biergartens, authentic food, live entertainment, and of course, Dachshund races!

It's Craftoberfest At Liberty Public Market

Prost! Craftoberfest at Liberty Public Market is San Diego’s only 10-day Oktoberfest event celebrating the art of Craft Beer! Hopheads can enjoy the spirit of Oktoberfest with a German tap takeover at Bottlecraft, featuring prost-worthy pilsners, lagers, kölsch, and more.

The Liberty Public Market will be the site of many Oktoberfest shenanigans, including a beer pong tournament, yodeling contest, a stein holding competition, a costume contest, and live music.

It's Fun For Everyone At Julian's 25th Annual Oktoberfest

It’s fun all day for everyone at Julian’s 25th Annual Oktoberfest! Enjoy live music with Oktoberfest dancers and singers, plus bingo hours, sip and paint an icon, children’s activities, silent auction, raffles, great food, and a Biergarten.

The 26th Annual Encinitas Oktoberfest is a free and festive community event that has a longstanding tradition of celebrating the German roots of the Encinitas area along with showcasing local artisan products, an authentic German Biergarten with stage entertainment to include Bavarian music and dance troupes, German refreshments as well as an international food court, carnival ride attractions, and a recently added local craft Biergarten.

Come One, Come All At One Paseo Oktoberfest 2022

Munich, Germany? No, One Paseo! Oktoberfest at One Paseo will include Biergartens provided by Harland and Scout, German-inspired bites from The Butchery, lawn games, music, a costume contest, and more!

Grab your friends and head down to The Lawn to enjoy tasty cold beer with even better company!

Mike Hess BrewingOriginal 40 BrewingRouleur Brewing, and Second Chance Beer are teaming up for the North Park Oktoberfest Beer Crawl on Thursday, September 22.

To add some extra incentive to your Oktoberfest, they are giving away $600 in prizes to those who complete the crawl. The four San Diego breweries’ taprooms are all within 0.4 miles of each other and must be visited between 5PM and 9PM to qualify.

Societe Brewing Annual Oktoberfest

On Saturday, September 24th, Societe brewery will be transformed into a German beer hall, decked out from floor to ceiling and offering authentic German street food paired with Societe’s signature Fest Bier, Societe’s beloved 4.6% Oktoberfest lager available from August through September, making it an Oktoberfest event not to be missed.

Bivouac SeptemberFest

September marks the official start of cider season (hopefully cooler temps, too!) and North Park’s Bivouac Ciderworks has San Diegans covered with a new release and other festive fall events all month long.

The BivoWACKY spin on an Oktoberfest-style party is serving up apple strudel cider and a specially crafted Bavarian food menu on Saturday, September 24th. Photo ops, games, activities, and prizes also await.
