The Carlsbad City Council has canceled its meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Del Mar is recruiting volunteers to serve on the city’s advisory committees and a legislative board. Vacancies are open on the Design Review Board (one non-voting member); Finance Committee (one voting member); and Traffic & Parking Advisory Committee (one voting resident member). The Encinitas City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, when it will discuss whether to end the term of Planning Commissioner Bruce Ehlers because of a conflict of interest. The council will also discuss the city’s Capital Improvement Program, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funding and other operational programs/initiatives.
The Escondido City Council will hold a facilitated workshop at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Police and Fire Headquarters, 1163 N. Centre City Pkwy., to consider its vision and strategic priorities for the city’s future, including budgets, goals, city operations, policies and ways to create development and revenue opportunities.
The city of Escondido has launched The Escondido Discussion as part of this year’s budget process. The community is invited to a presentation on the discussion at 6 p.m. April 19 in the Mitchell Room at City Hall; and one at noon May 11 on Zoom and broadcast on Channel 19/99. The Oceanside City Council will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a budget workshop.
The San Marcos City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Solana Beach City Council will meet in closed session at 4 p.m. Wednesday to discuss litigation. In special session at 5 p.m., the council will hear comments and review potential modifications to the draft 2022/23 Work Plan, the guiding document that includes all the council’s priority projects. At 6 p.m. the council meets in regular session to discuss supporting AB 1690, which would transition the sale of single-use cigarettes and cigars, and all-in-one disposable vapes, to rechargeable and reusable smoking products. The council will also introduce an ordinance regulating untraceable “ghost guns.”
The Vista City Council has canceled its regularly scheduled meeting for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Cardiff School District board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday. A closed session will follow.
The Carlsbad Unified School District board will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss litigation. In open session at 6 p.m., the board will hear reports on its Measure HH bond program and on the Proposition P and Measure HH performance audits. The board will also discuss returning to in-person public comments rather than phoned-in comments.
The Encinitas Union School District board will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss labor negotiations and personnel. In open session at 6 p.m., the board will hear a report on projected districtwide student population through 2027-2028. The board will also give final approval to contract agreements with the Teachers of Encinitas, Classified of Encinitas, and unrepresented employee groups.

The Ramona Unified School District board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The Solana Beach School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5:15 p.m. Thursday and in open session at 6:30 p.m.
The Vallecitos School District board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, when it will hear initial contract proposals for the 2022/23 school year from the Vallecitos Educators Association. A closed session will follow to discuss labor negotiations and personnel.
