CITY COUNCILS

CARLSBAD

The Carlsbad City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday to consider a phased-in single-use plastic foodware ban. The council will also discuss an ordinance regulating mobility devices; and a resolution to establish a fraud and ethics hotline for employees to use.

DEL MAR

The Del Mar City Council will meet in closed session at 3 p.m. Monday to discuss litigation. In open session at 4:30 p.m., the council will hold a public hearing on a resolution adopting the TransNet Local Streets and Roads program of projects for 2022-2023 through 2026-2027. The council will also receive an update on proposed revisions to the city’s campaign and temporary sign regulations, and will consider a resolution to prohibit immediate family members, including significant others or spouses, of council members from serving simultaneously on the Design Review Board or Planning Commission.

ESCONDIDO

The Escondido City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss designating a law firm as the enforcement authority for the Escondido Campaign Control Ordinance for the 2022 municipal election. The council will also review the 2021-22 Climate Action Plan annual report and recommend milestones for 2022-23.

The city of Escondido has launched The Escondido Discussion as part of this year’s budget process. The community is invited to one of these presentations on the discussion: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Park Avenue Community Center, 210 Park Ave.; noon Wednesday on Zoom and broadcast on Ch. 19/99; 4 p.m. Thursday at the Escondido Chamber of Commerce; 6 p.m. April 19 in the Mitchell Room at City Hall; and noon May 11 on Zoom and broadcast on Ch.19/99. OCEANSIDE

The Oceanside City Council will meet in closed session at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss labor negotiations and personnel. In open session at 5 p.m., the council will discuss awarding a six-month agreement with Circuit to operate an electric vehicle shuttle serving downtown Oceanside for the summer 2022 season.

POWAY

The Poway City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss a resolution approving a 2 percent increase in the Regional Transportation Congestion Improvement Program for 2022-23. A closed session will follow to discuss litigation.

SCHOOL DISTRICTS

ESCONDIDO

The Escondido Union School District board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Escondido Union High School District board will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss labor negotiations and personnel. In open session at 6 p.m., the board will hold a public hearing on initial contract proposals to and from the Escondido Secondary Teachers Association.

POWAY

The Poway Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 6 p.m. Thursday and in regular session afterward.

SAN PASQUAL

The San Pasqual Union School District board will meet in closed session at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss litigation and personnel. In open session at 5:30 p.m., the board will hear an update on its Local Control and Accountability Plan. It will also adopt changes to board policies, including updating policy names and numbers, and allowing students in grades 3-8 to see PG-rated movies in class with prior written permission of a parent or guardian.

VISTA

The Vista Unified School District board is scheduled to meet in closed session at 5 p.m. Thursday and in open session at 6 p.m.
