San Diego Kids Weekend Events: June 25-27

The weekend’s here and that means lots of reasons to celebrate. From the HomeGrownFun event at the San Diego County Fair to an Artwalk in Little Italy, San Diego families have plenty of reasons to get out and make the most of the summer sun. Read on to make your weekend plans!

Artwalk Little Italy Summer Series
Taking place at the Piazza della Famiglia and the adjacent block of W. Date Street, ArtWalk Little Italy Summer Series will include thirty select artists exhibiting their stunning works of art. The event will run every other Sunday (June 27, July 11 & 25, September 5 & 19), giving locals and visitors incredible opportunities to purchase one-of-a-kind art from local, national and international artists in a variety of mediums. HomeGrownFun is presented by the San Diego County Fair. Smaller in scale than the fair and limited in attendance, HOME*GROWN*FUN will offer a taste of your fair favorites–including shopping, food concessionaires, a Ferris wheel and carousel, agricultural-themed exhibits, demonstrations, contests and “edu-tainment” designed to educate and delight families looking to get outside for some real-life, in-person and down-home fun. San Diego Food Market
Visit one of the most family-friendly weekly street food gatherings in town. Relax with the kids on our soft picnic rugs, under the shade of umbrellas; play lawn games; listen to some of the region’s most talented musicians, and enjoy the unique atmosphere we have created. Enjoy a delicious variety of street food from our exciting lineup of local food vendors, including wood-fired pizza, dumplings, Thai burgers, Mexican, loaded fries and hot dogs, waffles and crepes, churros and donuts, as well as many other cuisines. Summer In Bloom
Join San Diego Made for the “Summer in Bloom” Market at The Forum Carlsbad. This weeklong event will feature dozens of curated makers and entrepreneurs showcasing their items for sale each day. On Sat., June 19 at 10:30 a.m. there will be a runway Fashion Show with free grab bags for the first 200 guests, DJ, prizes, and the season’s hottest looks! Throughout the week, the forum will come alive with a Live Butterfly Encounter, Summer Garden, and fabulous Displays daily while you shop our handmade vendors. There will also be special in-store offers at all Forum Carlsbad shops, live music performances, make & take craft stations and more all week long! This event is free and family-friendly! Sat.-Sun.
